The Codex sits in the gap: the rigor of the literature, written so a sixteen-year-old with bad skin at midnight can actually use it.

Why the research core matters more than the AI. The photo analyzer is what makes people click. The research is what makes them trust it. Anyone can wire up an API — very few people can read a dermatology literature, grade it honestly, and publish a verdict that survives scrutiny from a doctor. That is the difference between a demo and a body of work.
